Lots of lovely places in and around Budleigh (one of our favourites is fish and chips on the beach with a bonfire, a bit of a local tradition).

Also lots of places further afield worth striking out for, such as:
Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall's River Cottage Canteen at Axminster
Riverford Organics Field Kitchen near Totnes.
For a rustic lunch we both really love Town Mill Bakery in Lyme Regis.

PLACES WE LIKE - TO BE ACTIVE

We have easy access to the south west coastal path from the house and it is a different walk every day, depending on the weather, the season and the time of day.

We are lucky to also be very close to the National Cycle Network Route 2.

Dartmoor National Park - the Tors in particular are tremendous.

PLACES WE LIKE - TO VISIT

Otterton Mill is just 3 miles away and they serve the scrummiest scones in their indoor/outdoor cafe (other good food too!) There is a gallery, shop (amazing breads), milling demonstrations, evening music events and a lovely walk down the river side.

Darts Farm is a shopping and lifestyle experience based around a working farm on the outskirts of Topsham, less than 8 miles from us - good on a rainy day; great food hall.
